Evaluation is an important part of everyday life.

At its most basic, evaluation is a systematic process of examining if and how something is having a predicted effect in a specific situation and time.

Everyday when we have to make decisions that involve choosing between options we evaluate either explicitly or implicitly.

In change programmes, evaluation is essential but often neglected.

This survey aims to understand what people think about evaluation and why they get involved. We think there are two main reasons. One is that they want to learn and use this learning to adapt what they are doing and share it with others, the other is because they have to, either because of regulatory assurance or performance management requirements.

This survey asks you to share your views about evaluation, whether it is important or not and why, what value it adds, if any, and how it could be done better in future.

The results of the survey will be shared on
